STEP 1: Football Athleticism Assessment
Everything starts with a complete understanding of where your child is right now.

This step is completed remotely with our 1-1 guidance, allowing you to carry out a detailed football-specific athleticism assessment from your own environment while we support you through the entire process.

The assessment measures your child's strength, power, speed, mobility, stability, endurance, movement quality, posture and sprint mechanics to establish a clear physical baseline.

It shows how they compare to elite standards for their age, identifies any physical limitations that may be holding them back, and highlights where the biggest improvements can be made. 

You’ll then receive video analysis, clear performance insights, and a detailed report outlining their strengths, priority development areas, and exactly what they need to focus on to accelerate their progress towards pro academy and international level standards.
STEP 2: Report of Findings
After your childs results have been analysed, you’ll receive a detailed report of findings that turns their assessment data into clear, practical direction.

This report breaks down what the results mean for their football performance, highlighting the physical factors currently helping them and the specific areas most likely to hold them back at higher levels.

Each quality is prioritised in order of importance so you know exactly where they focus should be first, along with realistic targets to aim for.

This gives you a clear performance roadmap, removing uncertainty and ensuring your child's training is focused on the areas that will make the biggest difference to their development.
STEP 3: 1-1 Call to Go Through Results & Video Analysis
You’ll then have a dedicated 1-1 call where we walk you through your results and video analysis in detail.

This session brings your child's report to life, helping you fully understand what their results mean, how their movement and sprint mechanics are affecting their performance, and where the biggest opportunities for improvement lie.

You’ll be able to ask questions, gain clarity on your priorities, and leave the call with a clear understanding of what needs to improve, why it matters, and how it will help your child move closer to pro academy and international level standards.

STEP 4: Begin Tailored S&C Programme
With a clear understanding of your priorities, your child will begin a fully tailored strength and conditioning programme built specifically around their assessment results, goals, training schedule, and stage of development.

Every session is structured to target their key improvement areas while developing all the physical qualities required for high-level football, ensuring their progress is balanced, progressive and aligned with the demands of the game.

The programme is delivered through an app with full exercise demonstrations, coaching guidance and progressions, so you always know exactly what to do and how to do it to ensure safe, effective and consistent improvement.
STEP 5: Monthly 1-1 Call + Weekly Messenger Check-ins
To keep your progress on track, you’ll receive ongoing support through a monthly 1-1 video call alongside weekly check-ins via the app instant messenger.

The monthly calls can be used to review your child's progress, discuss performances, address any challenges, get live feedback on exercise technique, do a live workout, or make adjustments to their training where needed to ensure they continue moving forward.

The weekly check-ins provide regular accountability, the opportunity to ask questions, share updates or training videos, and receive feedback and guidance. 

This consistent support ensures each player stays focused, motivated and progressing, with expert input at every stage.
STEP 6: Retesting Every 3-Months
Every three months, you’ll repeat the entire athleticism assessment to get factual data on progress and track how their physical performance is improving over time. 

This allows us to objectively see what’s working, pin-point any areas that still need attention, and ensure your child's development continues to move in the right direction.

Their new results are compared against their previous data so you can clearly see the improvements they've made and how they're progressing towards elite standards.

The insights from each retest are then used to refine and progress their training, ensuring the programme continues to challenge them appropriately and drive long-term, consistent improvement.

Yianni Kyriacou
Yianni will be your assigned personal coach, guiding you through the entire process and ensuring you stay on track, accountable and progressing at every stage.

He holds a Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning and has over 15 years of experience working in the field, including time within professional club environments.

For the past six years, Yianni has worked alongside James at Matchfit, supporting hundreds of players and their parents through the programme and helping them make consistent, measurable progress.

He will be your main point of contact for ongoing support, feedback, and guidance, while all training and development is overseen by James to ensure every player follows the highest standards and a clear pathway towards pro academy and international level performance.
Me (James Donnelly)
I personally oversee every player inside the programme, ensuring their training meets the highest standards of football-specific strength and conditioning. You’ll also have direct 1-1 Messenger access to me within the app.

I spent 9 years at Wycombe Wanderers and represented England Schoolboys U18s before a career-ending hip injury at 19. I rebuilt myself through elite strength and conditioning, completed a Sports Science degree and a Masters in Football S&C, and made a miraculous comeback to competitive football four years later.

Since launching Matchfit Football in 2016, over 50,000 players worldwide have followed my systems, with many progressing to academy, professional and international level.

CAMERON'S 3-MONTH RESULTS:
When Cameron joined Pro Football Athlete, he was technically strong and a natural leader on the pitch. But his physicality was holding him back.
